Kolkata's D2C brands come out of trades that are centuries old β sarees and textiles, gold jewellery, Darjeeling and Assam tea, leather out of the tanning belt. The products need no introduction. The storefronts, almost without exception, undersell them.
Brands we build and scale
The Durga Puja peak is not Diwali moved by a month.
In West Bengal the year's buying concentrates into the weeks before Puja, and it starts earlier than most brands plan for. A store scaled and stocked for a November festive peak has already missed its season. Campaigns, inventory, courier capacity and customer service all have to be working to the Bengali calendar, not the national one.
The saree and textile houses have the same two-customer problem as any Indian textile brand β a local buyer and a diaspora one β but sharper, because Bengali communities abroad buy specifically for Puja and buy at the same moment. Multi-currency, international shipping that can actually deliver before a fixed date, and honest cut-offs are the difference between a good season and a month of complaints.
Tea is its own discipline. Flush, estate, grade and harvest year are the product, and a page that lists none of them is selling a commodity at a premium price and hoping. Get them into structured data and the same catalogue suddenly supports filters, collections and specification-led search traffic.

Questions we get every week
When should our Puja campaign be live?
Earlier than most brands plan for. The store should be finished and tested well before the season opens, with the campaign live in the weeks running up to Puja rather than during it β by the time the festival arrives your courier network is saturated and your customer service is firefighting. Working backwards from your delivery cut-off is the only version of this timeline that holds, and it is why we book Puja work months ahead.
Can you handle live gold rates for a jewellery house?
Yes. Prices are derived from weight, purity, making charge, wastage and stone value against the live rate rather than typed in, with a breakup shown to the customer. We publish an app that does this and we also build it natively into themes β which is right depends on your catalogue and how you want it maintained.
How do we sell tea online without competing on price?
By selling the specification. Estate, flush, grade, harvest year and tasting notes as structured fields rather than prose, so the page can present them consistently, filters can be built on them, and you rank for the queries a serious tea buyer actually types. A page that says only "premium Darjeeling" is competing with everyone on price and nothing else.
Do you work with brands across East India?
Yes β Kolkata, Siliguri and the tea belt, and the Assam estates. The work is the same shape, and the season and diaspora patterns largely hold across the region.
